Trina Solar launches new line of double row trackers

Trina Solar Co. Ltd., a global provider of total solutions for photovoltaics (PV) and intelligent energy, has launched the TrinaTracker Agile 1P Dual-Row.

The Agile 1P tracker is fully compatible with ultra high performance modules from 400 W to 670 W +. The two-row design of the Agile 1P shortens the tracker length to just 72 meters and allows the installation of up to 120 modules per tracker. This results in a higher installation capacity of 15.6% with the same layout.

"Trina Solar's tracker business must take developments from all perspectives into account," says Duan Shunwei, head of the Tracker division at Trina Solar. “The focus of the tracker industry is currently on wind technology and structural improvement. However, we also need to consider software development such as intelligent tracking algorithms and the SCADA system. By fully adhering to established industry standards as well as upstream and downstream integration, Trina Solar will add value to the tracker and further the growth of the global tracker market. "

Agile 1P uses a system with multiple drives (double swivel) and Trina Solar's worldwide patented spherical bearing to improve the overall stability of the tracker system, effectively reduce the aeroelastic effect of the system, improve the efficiency of load transfer, avoid rotation errors and the overall structure to improve . The spherical bearing can minimize structural stress and deformation and further improve reliability and adaptability in complex terrain. According to Trina Solar, the Agile 1P is also equipped with a sophisticated stowage strategy that prevents the tracker from structurally failing in gusty winds and increases the reliability of the system.

The number of agile 1P trackers is reduced by 33% compared to traditional single-row 1P trackers in a typical 1 MW layout, saving 9% on DC cabling. TrinaTrackers have an angle adjustment of 30%, whereby the installation deviation can be corrected and the failure rate as well as the operating and maintenance costs can be reduced. In addition, an upgrade of the installation process, in which the patented Trina-Clamp is integrated, reduces the installation time by 50%. The company's SuperTrack algorithm delivers an additional revenue gain of up to 8%. With a cleaning robot that effectively removes sand and dust on the modules, the power generation of the system can be improved by more than 10%.

The upcoming TrinaTracker SCADA system offers remote monitoring, early warning, intelligent diagnosis and troubleshooting. The SCADA system is designed to extend the effective operating time under various weather conditions, diagnose the problems with the real-time tracker and perform troubleshooting accordingly.

Agile 1P has officially gone into mass production. So far, TrinaTrackers' global installation capacity has exceeded 5 GW.
