Solar Help begins Predictive, Corrective Inverter Program

Solar Support, an engineering service company, has introduced a maintenance program for diagnostic devices that uses analyzes to assess the condition of central inverters in PV systems on a utility scale. Supported by the company's 22 years of troubleshooting for inverters and power electronics, the program supports both predictive and corrective operation and maintenance work.

Solar Support engineers analyze internal inverter data to evaluate components, pinpoint impending problems and failure trends, and help plant managers identify and source the right parts for quick repairs. The data analysis functions of Solar Support currently include inverters from all leading manufacturers.

"With thousands of aging inverters on-site – many under PPAs with high power consumption and expired warranties – accurate diagnostic maintenance is more important than ever," said Cliff Myers, chief engineer and co-founder of Solar Support. "Unlike service alternatives that can take days, we help asset owners understand and resolve the root cause of their inverter problems in less than 24 hours."

The maintenance program includes two intelligent services: data analysis, with which errors are diagnosed, and predictive data analysis, with which error trends are assessed before they become a problem. Both services contain recommendations and can be combined with support and technical troubleshooting training to help teams resolve device problems. Solar Support also provides detailed recommendations for replacement parts to ensure on-site efficiency.

Solar Supports' online knowledge portal offers free and open access to almost 1,000 inverter fault solutions. The company welcomes the cooperation with all manufacturers to make it easy for the users of the devices to easily access the diagnosis.
