At the Intersolar Fair in Munich, Phocos AG, manufacturer of solar-powered charge controllers and components for off-grid power supply, is presenting a range of innovative solar charge controllers with higher performance and improved user comfort. The new products have been specially developed for improved charging flexibility in mobile and solar home applications:
CXup series 10 – 40 A.
New to the successful PWM charge controller series from Phocos is the innovative CXup series with three models with a maximum charge and load current of 10 to 40 A. In addition to the highly efficient four-stage PWM charge control from Phocos, this series also offers automated temperature compensation, which further increases the efficiency of power generation in demanding mobile applications such as boats or mobile home systems in areas with strong temperature fluctuations and at very high temperatures. The housing of the charge controller is made of glass fiber reinforced polyamide. The temperature sensor connected directly to the battery (included in the scope of delivery) ensures reliable over- and undervoltage protection. New LCD sensor keys, another innovative Phocos function, enable quick and convenient access to a large number of system data as well as control, programming and monitoring functions. The new charge regulator also has a practical USB charging connection (5 V, 1,500 mA), acoustic alarms and a programmable night light function.
ECO-T-MPPT 16 A.
The new ECO-T-MPPT brings the high-precision Maximum Power Point charging technology from Phocos to the popular Phocos ECO series. This new charge controller delivers up to 30 percent more yield from solar modules. At the same time, it extends the battery life significantly thanks to its innovative temperature-compensated three-stage charging algorithm, an extremely successful proprietary Phocos development. The new MPPT charge controller automatically tracks the ideal power point of the modules and thus ensures maximum power at all times. ECO-T-MPPT is ideal for charging 12 V or 24 V batteries (automatic battery voltage detection) with the 60-cell modules commonly used in solar power plants at attractive prices.
"High-performance charge controllers play an important role in increasing solar efficiency, yield and ROI," says Rudy Müller, CEO of Phocos AG. “That is why we are consistently steering our development towards more yield, more user comfort and longer service life at attractive prices. We have developed these latest charge controller innovations in close collaboration with leading customers in response to ever-growing market demand. "
