Tri Global Energy (TGE), founder and developer of utility-scale renewable energy projects, has an agreement to sell two renewable energy projects – the 180 MW Hoosier Line Wind project and the 400 MW Honey Creek Solar project – Joined Leeward Renewable Energy, a growth-oriented renewable energy company that owns and operates a portfolio of approximately 2,000 MW of generation capacity.
The wind and solar power projects in White County, northwest Indiana, due to be operational as early as 2023, mark the first deal between the two Dallas-based companies and the first sale of renewable projects for TGE in Indiana. TGE has regional offices in Reynolds and Harford City, Indiana, as well as other renewable energy projects being developed in the state.
"Hoosier Line Wind and Honey Creek Solar are important milestones for TGE, our first expansion into Indiana," said John Billingsley, chairman and CEO of TGE. "We couldn't be more excited to start a new relationship with Leeward, who shares our commitment to developing and expanding clean energy and investing in empowering local communities."
TGE has been the project developer since these projects were founded in 2019. The company will continue to operate as a co-development partner under the sales agreement with Leeward Renewable Energy. With 50 landowners involved in the projects, both Hoosier Line Wind and Honey Creek Solar in White County have received strong support. PJM interconnection and environmental studies are currently ongoing.
Great Bay Renewables, a joint venture between certain funds operated by subsidiaries of Apollo Global Management Inc. and Altius Renewable Royalties Corp. will provide royalties to assist TGE in completing and funding the development of these projects through to construction.
