Solar Support, a specialized engineering company, now offers independent service assessment services for systems and devices for owners of PV systems.
Services include an on-site system and device performance review, as well as detailed documentation that owners can use to ensure support before EPC and manufacturer warranties expire. This work builds on the Inverter Predictive Analysis program launched by Solar Support last fall.
The warranty period varies – usually two years for construction and five years for devices such as central inverters. With a system lifespan of 28 to 35 years, the owners of systems bear full responsibility for decades of maintenance and repairs after the warranty has expired. Throughout the inspection process, Solar Support works closely with EPCs, manufacturers, and asset owners.
"Our independent end-of-warranty ratings help facility owners secure the support they deserve and avoid undue risk before coverage expires," said John McCauley, director of sales, Solar Support. "We put them in the best possible position before they pay for their own maintenance and repairs."
According to Solar Support, the new warranty services are based on the company's extensive reliability expertise, which also includes helping owners secure the future of their systems and equipment against extreme weather events. The objective inspections also help owners document the condition of their systems and components when they back up or renew their insurance.
